Mothers Day in the UK was last Sunday (6th March) this year and I had a relaxing day at home, with Mud and the Mudlets with just one short but enjoyable trip, en masse, to the relatively new, local Marks and Spencers food hall, to choose something for dinner ….. something I wasn’t going to have to cook! We opted for a mix of dishes from their Chinese range which Mud prepared later, with the help of the girls. What is effectively a take away, albeit a ‘cook your own’ version, might sound like an odd choice for a Mothers Day dinner but take aways in Mudville are few and far between and M&S do a really tasty range of Chinese dishes and as I love Chinese food, this was the perfect choice for me. A Gardeners Mothers Day
Mothers Day in Mudville over recent years, has involved hints about gardening related gift suggestions, usually along the lines of seeds, gardening gloves, seed compost etc and this year was no exception and I was thrilled to received King Edward and Duke of York seed potatoes. Mothering Sunday, a day of two halves
Mothering Sunday 2014 is most definitely one I’ll remember for a while and not all for good reasons. It started off well enough with Eldest Mudlet home and so all my girls were with me for Mothers Day for the first time in years. I had a pletherer of lovely gifts including two boxes of chocolates ( long since gone), two bouquets of flowers and no less than 5 dvds to watch including Warhorse which I’ve wanted to see for a long time and one of the Die Hard movies, with the oh so sexy Bruce Willis.
Chocolates, a book, some seeds and a train set
Sunday this week was Mothers Day and, in true Mudlet style, using stage whispers to communicate to each other the importance of remaining quiet, my girls tried very hard not to wake me up too early. At 7.15 am, all pretense of trying to get an extra half hours sleep was forgotten and Mud called them in to give me my gifts which the girls had wrapped themselves, on Saturday afternoon.
